Hi, I'm Max 👋
I'm based in Huddersfield, and I build the things businesses can't quite buy off the shelf: websites, customer journeys and bespoke systems that fit the way they actually work.
My background is in communications, so I tend to look at the whole journey rather than just the technology: how someone finds a business, what they see, what happens when they get in touch, and how the team handles everything that follows.
That started with websites, digital content and marketing. Increasingly, it has meant building the systems behind them too.
I now design and build bespoke business systems and CRMs around the way a company actually works. That can mean replacing spreadsheets and disconnected tools, bringing a customer journey into one place, automating repetitive work, or building something that simply doesn't exist off the shelf.
One of those systems is used day-to-day by an FCA-regulated mortgage and protection firm, managing work across leads, clients, opportunities, documents, tasks and adviser workflows.
Youell Systems is deliberately small. There isn't an agency between you and the person doing the work. If we work together, you deal with me from the first conversation through to design, development and launch.

Websites
A website that wins you work
Not a template with your logo dropped in. A site built around the one thing you need visitors to do, whether that's book, call or ask for a quote, and set up so every enquiry lands somewhere useful.
BeforeA contact form nobody fills in, and enquiries lost in an inbox.
AfterOne clear “Get in touch” that drops straight into your CRM.
- Written for your customersWords and structure that make your case
- Enquiries that go somewhereStraight into your systems, not an inbox
- Quick on a phoneWhere most of your visitors are
- Easy to findBuilt properly for Google from day one
CRMs
A CRM that works the way you already do
Most CRMs make you bend the business to fit the software. I build it the other way round: your stages, your language, your paperwork. Every lead and job in one place, so nothing slips and nobody has to ask where something's up to.
BeforeLeads in one app, notes in another, the real story in someone’s head.
AfterOne pipeline you can see at a glance, from first enquiry to won.
- Your pipeline, your stagesDrag a deal from New to Won
- Every conversation in one placeCalls, emails and notes on the record
- Tasks and follow-upsSo nothing slips through
- Accounts you ownYour data stays yours
Bookings & reminders
Bookings that sort themselves out
Customers pick a slot that actually suits you, get a confirmation straight away and a reminder the day before. You stop playing phone tag, and the no-shows drop.
BeforeBack-and-forth emails to find a time, and a diary only one person can read.
AfterCustomers book themselves in, and the reminder goes out on its own.
- Online bookingYour real availability, not a guess
- Text and email remindersSent automatically, the day before
- Rescheduling without a callA link to move it if plans change
- Straight into the diaryAnd onto the customer’s record
Quotes & invoices
From quote to paid, without the chasing
Quotes that look the part, signed online in a couple of taps, turned into an invoice with one click and chased politely if they’re not paid. You can see where every job’s money is at a glance.
BeforeA Word quote, a printed signature and an invoice you forgot to send.
AfterSigned on their phone, invoiced the same day, paid by card.
- Quotes in your brandBuilt from your own price list
- E-signaturesSigned in a couple of taps, properly recorded
- Invoices and card paymentsSent the moment the work’s agreed
- Automatic chasingPolite reminders until it’s paid
Email campaigns
Emails your clients actually open
Keep in touch with the people who already know you: annual check-ups, seasonal offers, a nudge when something’s due. Sent to the right list from the data you already hold, with the results in plain numbers.
BeforeA mailing list in a spreadsheet, and a blast to everyone twice a year.
AfterThe right message to the right people, and you can see who opened it.
- Lists that stay up to dateBuilt from your CRM, not a copy of it
- Templates in your brandLook right on every phone
- Sent at the right momentRenewals, anniversaries, follow-ups
- Results you can readOpens, clicks and replies
Automations
Your tools, finally talking to each other
You probably already pay for decent software. The trouble is the gaps between it, where someone copies details from one screen to another. I connect what you have, so the routine work happens on its own.
BeforeThe same details typed into four systems, and reminders that rely on memory.
AfterA new enquiry books the call, sends the welcome email and updates the CRM by itself.
- Connect what you already useEmail, calendar, accounts, forms
- Enquiry flowsWelcome email, record, call booked
- Payments joined upInvoices update the record when paid
- One customer recordNot five slightly different ones
Client portals
Let customers check for themselves
A private page for each customer showing where their job is up to, what’s next and what you need from them. They upload photos and documents themselves, and you get fewer “just checking in” calls.
Before“Any update?” calls, and documents arriving by text, email and post.
AfterCustomers see progress and upload what you need, in one secure place.
- Progress at a glanceEvery stage, as it happens
- Secure uploadsPhotos, documents and ID in one place
- Messages in one threadNo more hunting through inboxes
- Works on any phoneNothing for them to download
Spreadsheets, retired
Retire the spreadsheet everyone’s scared to touch
If an important part of the business runs on a shared sheet, a few email chains and someone’s memory, I’ll build the system it should have been all along, with project plans and reports that keep themselves up to date.
Before“chase??”, “quoted (I think)” and a column nobody understands.
AfterA clear status on every job, reminders going out, and numbers you trust.
- A status for every jobBooked, quoted, scheduled, done
- Project plansSee what’s next and what’s slipping
- Reports that build themselvesThis month’s numbers, no spreadsheet
- Nothing lostSaved, searchable and backed up
